  • Yosemite: /Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia
  • Mavericks: /Applications/Install OS X Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia

Step 5: Now, insert this bootable USB disk and boot your dead MacBook Pro from USB.

Step 6: Backup entire data from MacBook Pro onto a safe drive.
